Ecological Footprint

There are several aspects that allow us to operationalise our resource-efficient, environmentally-friendly policy:

An intelligent electricity management system that saves energy at every point in the hotel, from a simple socket to air conditioning units, fridges and lifts, controlled from reception.

All the hotel’s interior spaces use low-energy LED lights, which reduce consumption by around 40 per cent compared to other hotels of the same size and capabilities. This lighting also reduces CO2 emissions and does not produce heat, which reduces the need to use air conditioning to compensate for heat emissions.

The Hotel Villa Batalha is equipped with around 50 solar panels and is currently installing photovoltaic panels.
It has a system for utilising water from washbasins, showers and rainfall, which is treated in our Mini Wastewater Treatment Plant and reused in the hotel’s toilets and for watering the gardens;

The façades are double-glazed and self-ventilated, allowing for improved thermal behaviour and a consequent reduction in energy consumption;

At check-in, guests are given a letter asking for their co-operation in order to avoid the unnecessary replacement of towels;

Spa equipment is only switched on when there are users;

Connectors are being installed for charging Tesla and universal electric cars.

The Hotel Villa Batalha will be one of the “case study” hotels in the “PERCENT” project, which aims, among other things, to implement an innovative energy monitoring and alarm system in hotels that allows deviations to be measured and the hotel’s daily efficiency to be evaluated, in order to identify improvement measures and support energy management. Energy savings of between 5 and 10 per cent are estimated from using the system.

Electric Cars

We have three charging stations for electric cars – one 50 kW Super Charge charger and two 22 kW Type 2 chargers, the latter being part of Porsche Destination Charging.

The chargers are connected to the Mobi.E charging network, promoted by Iberdrola as Porsche Destination Charging.

4 car parking spaces for vehicles being charged.

We continue with our commitment to sustainability and the use of renewable energies.

Other areas

We continue to make efforts to strengthen these and other universal accessibility features; we have strategic partners who enable us to provide transport, daily care, accompaniment and tourist services.
